Company History
Founded in June 1996, Ingeo was established to help government agencies use digital map technology to manage information and resources. The company's name was derived from an abbreviation of intelligent geography.
In 1999, Ingeo decided to further focus its efforts on software solutions for county governments. This niche was identified after county recorders voiced a definite need for cost-effective electronic automation. Fueled by the passage of state (UETA) and federal (E-SIGN) legislation that paved the way for the legal acceptance of digital signatures and supporting technologies, as well as the automation of the recording process, Ingeo created its Electronic Document Recording System, which facilitates the electronic creation, transmission, and recording of legal land records.
Because of the company’s superior technology, Ingeo captured the first place market position in 2001 and continues as a leader in the young industry of electronic document recording solutions. Successful integration with well-established providers of technology and services in the county government arena brought significant growth to Ingeo. Beginning in California and Arizona, the company established a reputation for customer service and savings in time and dollars with its eRecord product.
In 2003, the company focused expansion attention on mortgage servicers, bringing ePrepare to many of the largest mortgage service providers. With an electronic bridge in place to connected counties where large percentages of population reside, the nation's largest mortgage servicers are experiencing the benefits of total automation in electronic recording.
In 2004, Ingeo expanded it county footprint to Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. Growing from 10 counties in January of 2004, the company was providing service to 45 counties by the end of 2005. Growth continued in 2006 with the addition of counties in Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota and New Jersey. By the end of 2007, Ingeo was serving 210 counties in 22 states, plus the District of Columbia. At the end of the second quarter of 2008, Ingeo’s totals were 231 counties in 25 states plus the District of Columbia, and the company is scheduled to be operational in 68 more counties by the end of the year. In 2009, another 97 counties are scheduled and this coverage will bring the state total to 34 plus the District of Columbia.
The company's current focus is continually expanding with new products. Ingeo’s newest offerings include iPrepare, which offers submitters online access to ePrepare , and iRecord, which is an e-recording webservice solution for counties. iTax is an enhancement to Ingeo’s e-recording service that enables counties to review and process transfer tax receipts, deeds and other related documents.
